Male Mute Swan..

Location: Bourne End Marina, Buckinghamshire, UK.
Subject: Male Mute Swan Preening.
Taken with: Canon Powershot S5 IS

Description:
I love this set of photos so much; mainly because they came out so well; and the swan didn't mind me being so close to him whilst I was shooting away and he was preening. This guy was massive; seriously I haven't ever seen a Mute Swan so big in the marina before! He was a beast! Beautiful and he knew it too! I love the contrast between colours in these photos, the fact that his body and wing feathers are so pristine white, but the ones atop his head are almost dyed yellow from the colour of the water where he has been dunking his head below the surface to feed! Man, he was gorgeous! :)

What a beautiful triptych, I love the combination of all three. The dark blue water is such a great contrast with the white swan.
