Well, over the last few days me and ~Indian-Ink have been working on hosting a competition. Well, ink had the idea for a while then ask me to help her host it, all the idea credit goes to her.
What is the competition about?
- A journey to the centre of the earth basically.
- Travelling through an untouched world
- Or actually being at the centre of the earth
- Could be based on the book by Jules Verne (http://www.deviantart.com/users/outgoing?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Journey_to_the_Center_of_the_Earth)
- Or the movie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQIERSvp03w & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WF8Bf1d_crk)
These are just ideas, feel free to interpret it in your own way.

Imi-1O says: This piece is amazing! I can't find a single flaw throughout it, I only knocked a point off the emotion as it didn't quite have that final 'kick' in the gut like Charlie's did.

21stbistro remarks: ...I'm overjoyed to see the grey horse, which is used in so many manipulations and has almost become cliche, used in a piece like this where it's completely transformed. Very nice job!

xglassraindrops states: ...The wild manes and tails are done exquisitely, and those wings are just gorgeous. The water is spot-on, the splashes realistic.

Theme: Spring time. Create an equine manipulation and/or digital painting that represents spring and the new life that it brings. This is pretty much free to interpretation as long as the manipulation conveys “new life,” in some sort of way. Pretty simple.

Rules:
1. Make sure to credit all stock used in your image. Otherwise it will NOT be accepted as an entry. We will be checking stock.
2. You manipulation must feature an Equine. Preferably as the focus of your manipulation. This is an equine manipulation group after all.

So then. First of all, sorry for the wait everyone. But I'm so happy to get the first competition up in a while! Turtrox and I can't wait to see what you come up with. So, to the competition.

What you are gonna do is draw a horse-it can be digital, traditional, anything! But, it has to be in a Halloween Color palette. The colors are Purple, Black, Orange and Brown. You can use other shades of those colors as well. Try not to use too much of other colors.

If your whole picture only has a little of those colors-your missing the points and will be disqualified. You may ask why-- we want you to exercise your creativity!

Also, spicing it up with a little Halloween-pumpkins, bats, etc-would be terrific! Try to bring across the theme of horses having their own little Halloween, or celebrating Halloween, or a meaning to it all. You've got a littl

DISCLAIMER:  These are just my -personal- rules I like to abide by, and not all comics or stories will fall under these.  They can be important guidelines, but it doesn’t mean they are set in stone.
1.  Develop a solid Inner and Outer Journey.
To make an interesting story, you first need a purpose, and that purpose is two-fold.  The outer journey is the course the plot takes outside of the characters.  A bus chase, a trip to the center of the earth, taking a rocket ship to a distant planet - these are all outer journeys.
The inner journey is the course the character will take inside of himself.  Finally opening up to others to receive love, a change of heart that turns a miser into a philanthropist, gaining courage to stand up for ones-self - these are inner journeys.  They change how the character views the world.

If you know me, I mean really know me, then you will know Safetysuit is one of my favourite bands in the whole wide world... many a time have they inspired my artwork; many a time have their lyric emotions featured in my pieces... Keep reading... all the way to the bottom for details about the contest...

I'm running a mini contest of sorts, something to chase away our Winter blues (or at least here in the UK, our Flooding blues!)

This is a digital art contest (manipulators, painters, airbrushers, etc etc.)

It will have ONE winner and TWO runner's up. - Winner will receive their winning image as a full sized print (approx. A3 sized dependant on original image size etc.) to display as they see fit & a 3-month premi from me. - Runner's Up will receive an A4 sized print to display as they wish & a 1-month premi from me.

It's a theme style contest with the only must's being based on the below lyrics:
